Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist II to join our team at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will provide clinical pharmacy services to patients in acute care and residential care environments.

Your Role

You will be responsible for assessing and recommending individualized treatments, serving as the primary resource for drug information, and providing expert advice to healthcare professionals. You will also monitor drug prescribing, distribution, and therapy to ensure safe, effective, rational, legal, and economic use of medications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to patients in acute care and residential care environments
  • Assess and recommend individualized treatments
  • Serve as the primary resource for drug information
  • Provide expert advice to healthcare professionals
  • Monitor drug prescribing, distribution, and therapy
  • Maintain workload records and statistics
  • Practice patient-centered care
  • Communicate pertinent findings and recommendations to healthcare practitioners

Qualifications
  • Current registration as a pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
  • Certification of completion of an Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Residency program (ACPR1); OR A combination of at least one year of full time equivalent (FTE) recent relevant clinical pharmacy experience and recognized advanced education courses; OR A combination of at least 3 years of full time equivalent (FTE) recent relevant clinical pharmacy experience and an equivalent combination of training, knowledge and experience
  • Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged
