Role Responsibilities: The Bilingual Collections Associate is tasked with evaluating and recovering overdue accounts while ensuring a respectful and professional relationship with clients. This role primarily involves handling inbound and outbound calls, as well as responding to customer inquiries via email. Additional administrative duties related to collections are required to meet individual and team performance targets. Flexibility in working hours is essential, as shifts may vary between 8 am and 8 pm.
Key Duties:
- Manage collections on accounts at various stages of delinquency to maximize recovery.
- Process end-of-term billing for closed accounts.
- Address First Payment Default accounts and assess for potential fraud.
- Resolve issues related to Missed First Payment accounts.
- Negotiate payment arrangements for non-performing loans.
- Recommend accounts that are significantly overdue for further action.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a collections role.
- Familiarity with Canadian collection laws and practices.
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in automotive collections is advantageous.
- Proficient in effective collection strategies for late-stage delinquent accounts.
- Strong negotiation skills and conflict resolution abilities.
- Proficient in MS Excel.
- Fluency in French is required.
