About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Swine Herdsperson to join our team at Topigs Norsvin Canada Inc. as a key member of our livestock management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-ordinate and Supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Ensure Farm Safety and bio-security procedures are followed at all times to maintain a healthy and secure work environment.
  • Maintain Livestock Performance Records to track and analyze the health and productivity of our swine herd.
  • Maintain Quality Control and Production Records to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Select Livestock for Sale based on market demand and quality standards.
  • Supervise and Oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs to ensure optimal results.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform General Farm Duties as required to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements
  • 3-4 Years of Experience in swine herd management or a related field.
  • Excellent Communication Skills to effectively coordinate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong Organizational Skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Valid Driver's Licence to operate company vehicles.
