Job Summary

Topigs Norsvin Canada Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Swine Herdsperson to join our team. As a key member of our farm operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our farm workers and ensuring the health and well-being of our livestock.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Farm Workers: Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers to ensure efficient and safe farm operations.
  • Ensure Farm Safety and Bio-Security: Ensure that farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed at all times to prevent accidents and maintain a healthy environment for our livestock.
  • Maintain Livestock Performance Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of livestock performance, including health, growth, and production metrics.
  • Quality Control and Production: Maintain quality control and production records to ensure that our livestock meet the highest standards of quality and productivity.
  • Supervise Breeding and Livestock Programs: Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs to ensure the health and well-being of our animals.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed, including tasks, hours worked, and any issues or concerns.
  • Perform General Farm Duties: Perform general farm duties as required, including feeding, watering, and caring for our livestock.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field, such as agriculture or animal science.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
  • Work Environment: The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a physically demanding workload.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral and written communication skills, organized, and a team player.
