About the Role

Giant Tiger is seeking a highly motivated and experienced retail professional to join our team as a Franchisee in Training. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading a team of sales associates and driving business growth in one of our franchise locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Store Management: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth, manage store budgets, and monitor inventory levels.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of sales associates to provide exceptional customer service, manage employee schedules, and provide coaching and performance feedback.
  • Administration: Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and expenses, prepare reports for senior management, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Community Engagement: Engage with the local community through events and initiatives, build relationships with local organizations and businesses, and foster goodwill and support for the store.
Requirements
  • Expert-level French language proficiency.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a retail environment, with 1 year of experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Ability to coach and lead teams, with flexibility to adapt leadership styles as needed.
  • Strong basic computer skills and ability to quickly grasp new software and systems.
  • Strong communication and planning skills, with ability to efficiently manage tasks, schedules, and projects.
  • Dedicated individual with a strong commitment to community engagement.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Willingness to travel to other regions for overnight stays as part of training program.
  • Willingness to relocate to other regions for store management opportunities.
Assets
  • Experience utilizing sales reports and customer feedback to interpret business trends and strategically enhance sales performance.
  • Visual merchandising experience.
  • Prior experience in WorkDay or similar people management/scheduling platform.
  • Bilingualism in French and English.
