About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Strategic Procurement Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and leading strategy and procurement in the areas of real estate and construction to support retail, DDS & ESG for all of Loblaw divisions and affiliates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead strategy and procurement in the areas of real estate and construction
  • Manage multiple internal and external partners and respond to business partners' requirements and needs
  • Develop sourcing events, analyze the supply market and ensure all compliance objectives from a contractual standpoint are met
  • Engage business partners proactively to find opportunities to improve category products and services, provide market insights, and address vendor performance and process issues
  • Lead complex contract negotiations, manage multiple partners and influence decision making to minimize Enterprise risk
  • Work with the Supplier Relationship Manager to monitor and manage category performance and vendor performance against contract obligations
  • Manage vendor relationships and implement vendor performance management techniques in accordance with standards and guidelines
  • Constantly monitor vendor market and find opportunities resulting from new product offerings and/or market shifts
Requirements
  • 6-8 years category management, sourcing and analytical skills or equivalent work experience
  • ~2-5 years of procurement experience specifically within the real estate and construction industries is an asset
  • ~ A minimum of BS/BComm in business, a quantitative field or engineering
  • ~ Creative, quality-focused and results-oriented
  • ~ Proven project management skills
  • ~ Strong organization and follow through, handling multiple projects of high financial impact and/or complexity
  • ~ Knowledge of procurement in real estate and construction industries, supplier base and market trends
  • ~ Demonstrated ability to implement Technology category management standard processes
  • ~ Working knowledge of category management
  • ~ Understanding and demonstrated ability of the advanced procurement techniques
  • ~ PC skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
