Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join our team at Amsted Automotive Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing detailed planning of work orders, evaluating job and equipment problems, and determining specific location and scope of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work Order Planning: Develop and maintain a file of best practices (safe work procedures) and provide work procedures where they exist.
  • Equipment Evaluation: Visit work sites to evaluate job and equipment problems and identify special tools, ladders, scaffolding, and rigging.
  • Material Management: Determine material requirements and parts locations, and request materials as needed for work orders.
  • Cost Control: Help control costs by ensuring that unused materials are promptly returned to stores.
  • Backlog Management
  • Work Order Scheduling: Participate in the scheduling of work orders and ensure prefabrication of shutdown jobs are completed within a timely basis.
  • Communication: Inform maintenance supervisors and maintenance coordinators on a continuous basis when materials have arrived, and work order is ready to schedule at the weekly scheduling meeting.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously review backlog to determine if work requests are still appropriate and recommend to operational long-range maintenance needs.
Measuring Results
  • Work Order Completion Rate: Percentage of planned and scheduled work completed.
  • Efficiency Metrics: Routine maintenance work order's actual hours versus estimated effort hours.
  • Backlog Analysis: Backlog (by area, craft, priority, and work order type).
  • Shutdown Performance: Shutdown scheduled hours versus actual hours.
