JOB SUMMARY

Woodbine Entertainment, a prominent name in the horse racing industry and the largest racetrack operator in Canada, is seeking a dynamic and innovative Live Sports Broadcast Producer. This role is essential in shaping a fresh brand of horse racing television that captivates audiences and enhances wagering engagement for our exceptional racing offerings and those from around the globe.

Reporting directly to the Director of Broadcasting and collaborating with the Brand and Experience team, you will spearhead the development of Woodbine Entertainment's new Network Broadcast Programming. Your mission is to conceptualize and produce live television shows that will be broadcast nationwide on Rogers Sportsnet. You are encouraged to think creatively and ambitiously, crafting unique horse racing shows that appeal to a diverse audience. Additionally, you will contribute to the creation of engaging content for various platforms, including social media and digital channels. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in producing and executing live sports broadcasts and has the insight to deliver content that resonates with contemporary sports betting enthusiasts. Your role will involve consistently exploring innovative ways to connect with the audience, identifying and executing compelling stories, live content, and effective information delivery methods tailored to the target demographic. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Collaborate and influence cross-functional teams comprising senior commercial leaders.

· Plan and execute live network broadcast productions from start to finish (including world feed programming and in-house Woodbine race productions).

· Coordinate with external technical facilities and crew providers to facilitate large-scale live broadcasts.

· Utilize Woodbine's existing control room infrastructure to produce smaller programming, potentially operating control equipment during production.

· Design all aspects of the network programming rundowns.

· Partner with the Broadcast and Social & Content teams to establish the vision for all network broadcast storytelling assets, influencing the narrative of network programs and collaborating with editors and producers to create targeted content.

· Work alongside the Graphic Design team to develop impactful graphic assets for network broadcasts.

· Familiarize yourself with internal simulcast productions to provide support to simulcast producers as needed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Key Success Factors

· Post-secondary diploma or degree in Broadcasting or equivalent experience.

· 8-10 years of experience in producing live-event sports coverage.

· Avid follower of live sports and sports betting content.

· Advanced knowledge of content creation and distribution across multiple channels (linear television, social media platforms, digital channels).

· Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a large team.

· Comprehensive understanding of live television technology and operations necessary for effective programming delivery.

· Creative and innovative thinker.

· Thrives in a team-oriented environment.

· Proven experience leading both creative and technical teams to deliver live content.

· Strong leadership skills, capable of taking charge while maintaining team dynamics to produce substantial content with limited resources.

Education and Experience

· Post-secondary diploma or degree in broadcasting or related field, along with relevant work experience.
