As a Quality Control Supervisor at Kiewit, you will oversee the quality assurance team and manage project-related initiatives in your assigned area.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute the project quality strategy in alignment with corporate quality standards, while implementing measures to avert quality-related issues.

The Quality Control Supervisor may be tasked with managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Ideally, you possess experience in hydroelectric projects as well as heavy industrial sectors.
Kiewit is a comprehensive, heavy industrial contractor catering to the industrial market across Canada.

Kiewit typically self-performs all major disciplines, including civil works, structural steel erection, heavy mechanical installations, process piping, and electrical/instrumentation controls.

Our operations are conducted through various commercial contract types, including full turnkey, EPC, design-build, time and materials, and conventional discipline packages.

We have consistently advocated for "partnering," collaborating with owners, major equipment suppliers, and engineers during the early phases of project development to facilitate a more cost-effective execution strategy.

Travel may be necessary as our projects can be located in various regions.
Oversee quality for construction activities
Develop project quality plans, inspection and testing plans, and procedures
Collaborate closely with Construction Supervisors, Schedulers, and Planners to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the project scope and timeline
Deliver quality work that meets the requirements of plans, specifications, and industry standards
Maintain a thorough understanding of the Project Quality Management System, work instructions, and procedures
Ensure that work adheres to established technical requirements as defined by project documentation, including drawings, specifications, procedures, inspection and test plans, and work instructions
Align quality control objectives with construction processes to enhance product reliability and minimize costs
Engage with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to address and resolve issues related to work procedures, complaints, and construction challenges
Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, staff, and management regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status
Generate quality reports and metrics
Analyze data and prepare reports to validate or highlight deviations from existing standards

Issue notices of non-conformance and stop-work orders, collaborating with clients and quality personnel to document incidents, contract requirements, and recommend corrective actions.

Review worker logs, as-built drawings, quality checklists, test reports, and specification sheets to ensure compliance with contract specifications
Manage personnel, preparing work schedules and assigning specific responsibilities
Conduct quality training for staff
Analyze operations to assess the performance of the company and its personnel in achieving objectives, and identify areas for potential cost reduction, program enhancement, or policy modification
Recommend adjustments to existing quality or production standards to attain optimal quality
Assist other projects and regions as necessary in the implementation of Kiewit's Quality Program
A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a comparable combination of education and experience
A minimum of 4 years of experience in construction as a Quality Manager in industrial sectors
A proven track record as a QA/QC Inspector on large-scale projects
Significant experience managing a team of quality inspectors
A strong commitment to safety, ensuring that no one is harmed
Excellent organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills
Ability to access all areas of a construction site in diverse climates and environments
Fluency in French is required

Functional knowledge of English (both written and verbal) is considered an asset, as mobility across provinces may be necessary.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including safety signs, equipment usage, and other policies.
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.
