Job Title: Co-operative Housing Development Manager

Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Co-operative Housing Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering a program of support to member co-operatives across the country to support growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a program of support to member co-operatives to support growth, including co-op expansions, redevelopment, mergers, acquisitions, co-op conversion, and new creative models for growth and funding.
  • Work as part of a team pursuing growth with a focus on feasibility of projects, predevelopment, and funding application readiness.
  • Develop resource material and conduct training sessions for staff and volunteers of housing co-operatives, federations, and staff associations on topics related to growth.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with various funding agencies, federations, and partners.
  • Coordinate consultant activities, and federation and partnership relationships in the delivery of CHF Canada's development programs and services.
Requirements:
  • University degree or professional experience in a related field such as Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • Five years' residential real estate development experience, with demonstrated experience with full development lifecycle, including end-to-end project delivery.
  • Knowledge of the Office 365 suite of applications, including excellent knowledge of MS Excel and financial modelling.
  • Working knowledge of graphic design tools, including Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Working knowledge of other software applications and productivity tools, including SalesForce, Adobe, Slack, Asana, and Trello.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage the demands of multiple long-term projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with non-profit boards and familiarity with housing co-operatives and their supporting agencies is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including delivery of complex concepts to audiences with a wide diversity of knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is required.
