Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Housing Consultant. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of housing policies, programs, and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement housing programs and services that meet the needs of our community.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community service providers, stakeholders, and other City divisions.
  • Supervise and motivate staff teams to ensure effective delivery of housing programs and services.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of service delivery to ensure compliance with legislative and contractual requirements.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure financial accountability and compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with applicants, tenants, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and concerns.
  • Facilitate capacity building and continuous improvement in the community housing sector.
  • Work with auditors, engineers, legal representatives, and service provider staff to resolve service delivery or compliance issues.
  • Develop and recommend options for policies, management practices, performance measures, and budget submissions to improve the delivery of housing programs and services.
Key Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in a discipline relevant to the position or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Considerable project management experience with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in stakeholder relations with a high level of ability to influence and negotiate outcomes effectively.
  • Considerable experience in the administration and delivery of housing programs and services.
  • Experience managing, coordinating, and motivating staff, conducting performance appraisals, and managing labour relations matters.
  • Experience working with and interpreting financial and non-financial data to assess program-related outcomes.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to take initiative and problem solve.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize information into clear and concise messages.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and tact.
