Position Overview:

As a Certified Horticulture Technician at Clintar Commercial Outdoor Services, you will play a vital role in the upkeep and enhancement of outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
 Conduct thorough assessments of assigned projects and job sites
 Design, construct, and maintain aesthetically pleasing gardens
 Strategically plan tasks to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
 Operate horticultural tools and equipment proficiently
 Seed planting and seedling transplantation
 Examine and treat trees, shrubs, and plants for health and growth
 Provide care for plants through watering, pruning, weeding, and removing damaged foliage
 Handle and transport nursery stock with care
 Spread topsoil and lay sod as needed
 Execute fertilization and watering of plants
 Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges to promote healthy growth
 Maintain lawns and gardens through regular upkeep
 Operate various landscape maintenance equipment, including mowers and blowers
 Perform manual tasks to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of landscaped areas and equipment
 Assist in landscape construction projects when required
 Complete daily documentation, tracking time and material usage
 Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
 Follow all company policies and local health and safety regulations
 Engage with clients in a courteous and professional manner

Qualifications:

- Completion of college, vocational, or technical training
- Horticulturist Trade Certification or Lawn Gardener Trade Certification
- Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of plant identification, particularly trees, shrubs, and perennials
- Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications
- Physically fit with good stamina
- Basic skills in measurement and calculations
- Excellent observation skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Valid driver's license required

Work Environment:

- Must be physically fit and able to lift at least 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the work shift
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good manual dexterity is essential
- Regularly work near heavy equipment and vehicles
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and cold
- Flexible hours, including occasional weekend work.
