Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Building Operator to join our team at Bouygues Energies & Services. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and services of our building systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management: Oversee the overall day-to-day operations, services, and maintenance of building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, building automation, fire and life safety, and other related systems.
  • Team Leadership: Provide direct operational oversight to building operators, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of the facility.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform and schedule preventative and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring that all systems are functioning properly and that any issues are addressed promptly.
  • Compliance and Regulatory: Ensure compliance with regulatory and code requirements within the scope of services, and consult with regulatory agencies as required.
  • System Management: Use Building Automation Systems to control and operate equipment, adjusting as required to improve efficiency, and review and troubleshoot system alarms.
  • Work Order Management: Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to manage work orders, and record accurate information within the work orders.
  • Training and Development: Train, lead, and support building operators in their work, escalating performance or other issues to the Facility Manager.
  • Safety and Quality: Perform all job functions in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable legislation and best practices, and maintain records, logs, and reports pertinent to work assignments and the service contract.
Requirements
  • Certifications: BES 1/BES 2 certifications are considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of WHMIS, occupational hazards, safe work practices, and applicable regulations, codes, and legislation; proficiency in operating Building Automation Systems and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift items up to 50lbs, work on shift, be on call, and be mobile within the assigned portfolios.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong customer service, communication, and leadership skills; able to work independently with minimal direction and respond to emergencies; strong time management skills and ability to prioritize work to deliver successful results within agreed timeframes.
