Job Summary

As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management: Oversee the overall day-to-day operations of the building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
  • Team Leadership: Provide direct operational oversight to a team of building operators, including training, leading, and supporting them in their work.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform and schedule preventative and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and code requirements.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to and resolve emergency situations, such as fires, elevator entrapment, and other critical site conditions.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Communicate effectively with facility users, clients, and stakeholders to ensure that service delivery standards are met or exceeded.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports pertinent to work assignments and service contracts.
Requirements
  • Certifications: BES 1/BES 2 certifications are considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of WHMIS, occupational hazards, safe work practices, and applicable regulations, codes, and legislation. Proficiency in operating Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift items up to 50lbs. Ability to work on shift, be on call, and be mobile within the assigned portfolios.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong customer service, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently with minimal direction and respond to emergencies. Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize work to deliver successful results within agreed timeframes.
