Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, including pre and post-operative care.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, utilizing the nursing process and evidence-based practice.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, identify patient needs, and prioritize interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Recent experience in surgical nursing, with a focus on pre and post-operative care.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical nursing practices, including TPN, Neuraxial Analgesia, and Patient Controlled Analgesia.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Surgical Nursing or Wound Care.
  • Recent continuing education in surgical nursing or a related field.
