We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide quality care to patients with complex needs, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with complex needs, including those requiring TPN, Neuraxial Analgesia, and Patient Controlled Analgesia.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, using the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Identify and respond to abnormal or unexpected patient responses, taking appropriate action to ensure patient safety and well-being.
- Manage multiple nursing interventions simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, using strong interprofessional and communication skills to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to become licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current certification in BCLS.
- Recent knowledge in Surgical Nursing, with experience caring for pre and postoperative surgical patients.
- Ability to use the Nursing Process and basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized care planning and delivery.
- Collaborates and provides consult to Registered Practice Nurses when patients assigned to the RPN become unstable or have outcomes that are not as expected.
- Certification, or recent continuing education in Surgical Nursing.
- Certification in Wound Care.
