About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Precinct Properties and Facilities Management to join our team at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our legislative operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Management
    • Develop and implement comprehensive strategic plans for precinct properties and facilities management.
    • Provide guidance and oversight to ensure effective management of facilities operations, maintenance, and renovation projects.
  • Facilities Operations and Maintenance
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of precinct properties, including buildings, grounds, and infrastructure.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to safety, sustainability, and accessibility.
  • Project Management
    • Plan, execute, and oversee capital projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
    • Develop and implement project management processes and procedures to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead and manage a team of facilities professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.
    • Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the team.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including MPPs, staff, and external partners.
    • Communicate key information and updates on facilities operations, maintenance, and projects to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Combination of equivalent education and 7-10 years related/on-the-job experience in facilities management, project management, or a related field.
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as architecture, historic preservation, construction management, engineering, or facilities management.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Specialized training and knowledge in architectural design, project and construction management, building technology, heritage conservation, and facility management.
    • Expertise in planning, executing, and overseeing capital projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
    • Solid working knowledge of local, provincial, and federal regulations related to safety, sustainability, codes, and building systems.
  • Professional Development and Certification
    • Active involvement and membership in relevant professional associations, such as the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP) or the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA), is an asset.
