Job Summary

Lightmatter is seeking a highly skilled CAD Engineer to support our IC design teams in creating innovative chips for extreme-scale artificial intelligence computing clusters. As a CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for administering our CAD EDA environment, supporting design flows, and developing scripts to enhance design teams' productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain our CAD EDA environment for analog, digital, photonics, and package design teams
  • Support and optimize design flows from leading EDA vendors, including Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor, Keysight, and Ansys
  • Develop and implement scripts using SKILL and Python to automate design tasks and improve efficiency
  • Oversee physical verification tools and decks, making custom modifications as needed to ensure design accuracy and quality
  • Collaborate with IC layout designers to develop and maintain custom PDKs, models, and design rules
  • Install and track foundry PDKs, including creating automated regression testing to ensure design integrity
  • Work closely with the infrastructure team to ensure the availability and performance of computing resources

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of CAD engineering experience
  • 2 years of experience in scripting languages such as SKILL, Python, or Bash
  • Proficient in using industry-standard design software, including Cadence Virtuoso, Cadence/Calibre DRC, and LVS tools
  • Experience supporting design teams working with analog and digital design flows
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with remote teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in supporting DRC and/or LVS decks
