Job Overview:

We are in search of a Layout Engineer responsible for the design layout of RF and mixed-signal integrated circuit components derived from schematics, diagrams, or netlists. This role utilizes standard bulk CMOS and SOI technologies while adhering to design regulations. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of power, ground, ESD, and analog placement and routing considerations. You will be accountable for guiding the physical design from schematic through to physical verification and tape-out efficiently and independently. Familiarity with RF circuit and transmission line layouts is advantageous.

As a proficient expert in IC layout, you should demonstrate the ability to execute tasks creatively and effectively, handling assignments that require significant judgment and initiative. You must also comprehend the implications of your work and be capable of proposing solutions, methodologies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design layouts for RF and mixed-signal integrated circuit (IC) components based on schematics, diagrams, or netlists using SOI, CMOS, RF CMOS, and GaAs technologies while following design guidelines.
  • Collaborate directly with IC design engineers to produce and enhance layouts for optimal size and performance.
  • Set and achieve project goals and timelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficient in generating IC layouts and related documentation. Familiarity with CAD tools, particularly Cadence Virtuoso 6.1.8, Cadence VirtuosoXL, Assura, and Calibre Verification tools including DRC, LVS, and ERC is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to adapt swiftly to changes and work effectively in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes is necessary.
  • Capable of coordinating and resolving issues with engineering teams.
  • Ability to work within project timelines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Proficient in Custom Analog, RF, and Digital layout skills, capable of working at the cell, block, and chip levels.
  • Solid understanding of device matching challenges and effective analog/RF layout techniques.
