Position: Integrated Circuit (IC) CAD Engineer - Analog Mixed-Signal Flow Automation

At Lightmatter, we are pioneering the development of chips that facilitate advanced artificial intelligence computing clusters. We seek a dedicated engineer or scientist who thrives on innovation, tackles complex technical challenges, and contributes to groundbreaking projects, such as the creation of the world's first optical computers.

In this position, you will play a crucial role in supporting our IC design teams. Your responsibilities will encompass PDK administration, layout design, verification flow assistance, custom DRC/LVS rule deck implementation, and scripting development. Collaboration with IC layout designers during the chip taping out process will also be a key aspect of your role.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the CAD EDA environment for teams involved in analog, digital, photonics, and package design.
  2. Facilitate design flows utilizing EDA tools from vendors such as Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor, Keysight, Ansys, and others.
  3. Create scripts to assist design teams and workflows using SKILL and Python.
  4. Supervise physical verification tools and decks (DRC, LVS, Extraction, EM/IR, ESD, etc.), making necessary custom adjustments.
  5. Develop and sustain infrastructure for custom PDK development, including custom pcells, models, DRC, LVS, etc.
  6. Install and monitor foundry PDKs, which includes establishing automated regression testing.
  7. Support the infrastructure team in ensuring the availability and efficiency of computing resources.
Qualifications
  1. A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in CAD engineering.
  2. At least 2 years of experience with scripting languages such as SKILL, Python, or Bash.
  3. Proficient in using leading design software, including Cadence Virtuoso and Cadence/Calibre DRC, LVS tools.
  4. Experience in supporting design teams engaged in both analog and digital design flows.
  5. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.
Preferred Skills

Experience in supporting DRC and/or LVS decks is highly regarded.
