Location: Mississauga, ON

Your responsibilities:
  1. Facilitate Planning and Scheduling tasks.
  2. Develop project timelines: Offer guidance and support to junior planners.
  3. Establish Resource/Budget Schedules: Provide mentorship to lower-level planners.
  4. Create Baseline Schedules: Lead and assist junior planners.
  5. Revise Schedules: Support and guide lower-level planners.
  6. Extract Primavera data files for cost control: Lead and mentor junior planners.
  7. Distribute schedules for internal use: Provide guidance to lower-level planners.
  8. Disseminate schedules for external stakeholders: Lead and support junior planners.
  9. Monitor and manage project progress against the Schedule: Guide and support lower-level planners.
  10. Prepare and update Resource requirement reports: Assist lower-level planners.
  11. Identify and report critical scheduling issues: Provide guidance to junior planners.
  12. Analyze and explain discrepancies between current schedules, plans, earned values, and forecasts, and communicate findings to the Project Controls Manager and Project Manager.
  13. Ensure accurate progress measurement is implemented for all projects and portfolios throughout the project lifecycle.
  14. Present updates to the Lead/Manager/Project or P&L lead.
  15. Advise on potential concerns that may hinder the achievement of P&L objectives.
  16. Collaborate with other Project Control Teams to maintain a cohesive cost-schedule project control system.

The ideal candidate:
  1. Possesses a University degree (B. Eng, BCom, etc).
  2. Has over 10 years of relevant cost control experience in engineering and construction project environments.
  3. Is proficient in the MS Office suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  4. Ideally has extensive knowledge of Primavera P6.
  5. Demonstrates the ability to learn new software in accordance with company standards.
  6. Exhibits expert knowledge of project management methodologies and has hands-on experience with techniques such as critical path method, progress measurement, and earned value analysis.
  7. Displays strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  8. Can prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure to meet project deadlines.
  9. Possesses a solid understanding of general project controls policies and procedures.
  10. Has excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  11. Exhibits effective problem-solving abilities with a results-oriented mindset.
  12. Demonstrates strong analytical skills.
  13. Can collaborate effectively with clients and alliance partners.
  14. Is capable of building and maintaining positive working relationships with the Project Controls team.
  15. Can mentor junior and intermediate staff and collaborate with project cost controllers.
