Peace Collaborative Services (PCS) is a regional entity dedicated to delivering specialized educational support across multiple school jurisdictions in Northwestern Alberta. The Grande Prairie Public School Division employs PCS professionals to serve the educational needs of the region.

Opportunity Overview

We are in search of a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to enhance our multi-disciplinary educational team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for working with students ranging from Preschool to Grade 12. This role involves collaborating with other professionals, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Psychologists, to support students with diverse needs, including those with visual and/or hearing impairments.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to Individualized Child Services

  1. Design and implement intervention strategies, regularly assess and adjust individual programs as necessary.
  2. Deliver direct therapeutic services to designated children.
  3. Educate teachers, assistants, volunteers, and parents on effective speech language intervention methods.
  4. Engage in case discussions, parent consultations, and collaborative programming.
  5. Conduct research and provide expert consultation.
Leadership in Program Services
  1. Oversee para-professional staff and offer guidance for Educational Assistants.
  2. Influence the development and execution of the Speech Language Pathology program across various jurisdictions.
  3. Establish, implement, and assess a quality assurance framework.
  4. Contribute to the formulation of annual operational and capital budgets.
  5. Assist in the creation and execution of group intervention programs.
Qualifications
  1. Participate in required staff and departmental meetings.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  3. Exhibit self-motivation and a commitment to continuous learning with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  4. Must hold or be eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
  5. Possess a valid driver's license (travel may be necessary).
  6. Complete a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record Check.
  7. Experience with pediatric populations is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
  1. Competitive salary range ($69,820 - $105,759 based on experience).

  6. Reimbursement for relocation expenses (up to $5,000).
