Position Overview:

The Speech-Language Pathologist will report to the Client Services Manager within the Rehabilitation Services department. This role involves working autonomously as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, focusing on the planning, execution, and assessment of rehabilitation services. The approach will be client-centered and goal-oriented, catering to both pediatric and adult populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a skilled interdisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Audiologists, to deliver outpatient and community-based Speech-Language Pathology services.
  • Implement a client and family-centered care model utilizing social-emotional, neuro-developmental, and play-based methodologies.
  • Engage in feeding and swallowing assessments and interventions for children and youth.
  • Prepare for the transition to a new rehabilitation space dedicated to Children and Youth, with plans for a new facility opening in the near future.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Active registration with the relevant professional regulatory body.
  • Eligibility for membership in national Speech-Language and Audiology organizations.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in Speech-Language Pathology is preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficient in assessing, identifying, and treating clients across various age groups and with diverse diagnoses.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must maintain good physical and mental health, capable of sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress and within time constraints.
