Academic Planning and Quality Assurance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Planning and Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). As a key member of our academic leadership team, you will play a critical role in advancing our institution's position as a leader in quality programs and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Strategic Institutional Initiatives: Develop and implement strategic initiatives that advance the Institute's position as an institution of higher learning, ensuring alignment with our strategic direction and policies.
- Program Development and Review: Lead and support the development and implementation of internal and external quality assurance and enhancement processes, ensuring academic standards and industry relevance in all programs.
- Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement: Coordinate quality assurance and continual improvement processes for accredited programs, including professional degrees, and collaborate with the Dean to assess and make recommendations for approval of all new programs.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Educational Council, program champions, and service areas to ensure quality program proposals receive timely review and approvals, and facilitate interactions between program areas and service areas.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to bring new and innovative perspectives in support of BCIT's strategic direction, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiency within the program area interface.
- Leadership and Decision-Making: Provide leadership and direction in the development of program proposals, and make sound decisions with demonstrated ability to think innovatively and diversely.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects and priorities, working under pressure to meet deadlines and build and work within high-performing teams.
- Communication and Relationship-Building: Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, build and sustain relationships, and capitalize on opportunities to maximize development of new academic products and programs.
- Master's Degree: A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as education, or an equivalent plus a minimum of five years current post-secondary experience.
- Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge and Skills: Solid working knowledge of educational systems, including curriculum development and program review, and excellent working knowledge of academic/educational systems, standards, and best practices, nationally and internationally.
- Leadership and Management: Strong leadership and transition management skills, with the ability to make sound decisions and think innovatively and diversely.
- Organizational and Time Management: Good organizational skills and a high degree of self-motivation, professionalism, business acumen, political astuteness, and diplomacy.
- Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft Office skills and demonstrated internet research skills.
