About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Nutrition and Food Services Utility Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to patients, residents, and staff, while maintaining a clean and safe food service environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve patient meals, including menu planning, food preparation, and delivery
  • Maintain a clean and safe food service environment, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas
  • Assist with food storage, inventory management, and ordering supplies
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, residents, and staff
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent education
  • Previous experience in food service or a related field
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies
