Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role within our interprofessional healthcare team, reporting directly to the Client Service Manager. This position involves conducting thorough client assessments and developing tailored care plans that address both physical and psychosocial needs.
The RN is responsible for monitoring ongoing client care and conditions to ensure optimal health outcomes. This role includes administering prescribed medications, supervising unregulated staff in medication delivery, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. The RN also provides education, counseling, and advocacy to enhance the health and well-being of clients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver direct care to clients while maintaining professional accountability.
2. Engage in clinical practice, administration, education, and research.
3. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and act as a case manager and client advocate.
4. Uphold professional and ethical standards in accordance with the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) Code of Ethics and Carewest's policies.
Program Summary
The Rehabilitation and Community Transition Program (RCTP) offers short-stay restorative care for medically stable adults who require additional assessment and therapy before returning to the community.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BScN preferred.
- Current registration with the CRNA is required.
- Basic Life Support Provider CPR certification is mandatory.
Experience
A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience is preferred, along with demonstrated leadership skills.
