About the Role

CIMA+ is seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Vancouver. As a key member of our specialized Hydraulic and Water Resources Team, you will play a critical role in the planning and design of infrastructure projects and hydropower initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Development: Prepare drainage plans, develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for road, highway, rail, land development, and transit projects.
  • Design and Construction: Involve in the design of stormwater management systems, including storage systems, LID design, storm sewer design, and hydraulic grade line analysis.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams regarding drainage requirements for projects.
  • Field Inspections: Conduct field inspections related to the design and construction of civil projects.
  • Design Activities: Assist in completing design activities and preparing engineering drawings related to drainage and stormwater management.
  • Hydraulic Installations: Design hydraulic installations such as spillways, retention basins, canals, bridges, culverts, penstocks, etc.
  • Dam Safety Studies: Carry out dam safety studies.
  • Climate Change Impact: Evaluate the impact of climate change on various infrastructures.
  • Estimation and Proposal Preparation: Estimate quantities to complete construction estimates in compliance with standardized methods and established drawings and specifications, and assist with proposal preparation and business development.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or postgraduate Degree in Water Resources.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in water resources, preferably in an engineering consulting environment.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Professional Engineer in British Columbia (P.Eng.) licence or must be eligible to obtain.
  • Software Skills: Good knowledge and experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software specifically HEC-RAS, and knowledge of AutoCAD, Word, and Excel.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
