Job Title: Senior Mine Water Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mine Water Engineer to join our Global Minerals & Metals team in Canada. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical leadership and support for mine water management planning, design, permitting, implementation, and monitoring across Canada and internationally.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and senior review of mine water management scopes and deliverables to ensure they align with our Quality Management Systems, applicable regulations, and client expectations.
  • Develop relationships with mining sector clients, regulators, and representatives of First Nations through meetings, attendance/presentations at conferences, and contributing to marketing materials to highlight our capabilities and successful delivery of innovative solutions.
  • Support the development of new services lines relating to mine water management, progressive reclamation strategies, as well as strategies to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate against and/or adapt to the impacts of climate change.
  • Leverage your experience in and knowledge of mine water planning, permitting, engagement, implementation, monitoring, and compliance with relevant/emerging regulations to develop innovative, fit-for-purpose solutions that support sustainable and resilient recovery of critical metals and minerals.
  • Lead and contribute to the pursuit of mine water opportunities of varying scales and in collaboration with our subject matter experts located throughout Canada and abroad.
  • Provide leadership support at a project and team level, including mentoring junior and intermediate members of the team and identifying/championing high-potential candidates for opportunities that will extend/expand their skill sets.
  • Lead and support engagement with client subject matter experts to collaboratively develop/refine mine water solutions through meetings and workshops focused on comparing conceptual options, identifying and mitigating risks, and reviewing design deliverables.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or equivalent. A Master's degree in Engineering or related field is considered an asset.
  • 15+ years of experience in water resources engineering, with a focus on mine water management, hydrology, water quality, and water treatment.
  • Demonstrate strong writing skills and abilities by succinctly conveying recommendations, ideas, and insights in reports, presentation materials, client proposals, and other written communications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate effective teamwork in multidisciplinary teams across various offices in Canada, ensuring cohesive project delivery.
