Position Overview:

As a vital member of our pharmacy team, you will support the Pharmacy Manager in delivering exceptional service and ensuring the accurate production of prescriptions. Your role will be crucial in enhancing both prescription and over-the-counter sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process customer prescriptions, ensuring all necessary information is collected and complete.
  • Maintain comprehensive patient and medication records.
  • Verify pharmaceutical products prepared by other regulated technicians or unregulated personnel, including specialized packaging.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of pharmaceutical products prior to release.
  • Administer vaccinations as required.
  • Prepare prescription labels and affix them to containers appropriately.
  • Manage accounts and collect payments from patients when necessary.
  • Retrieve, measure, and mix medications as needed.
  • Clarify prescriptions within the scope of your practice.
  • Price prescriptions and prepare necessary documentation such as receipts and invoices.
  • Stock and monitor medications and supplies, ensuring proper rotation.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory system using Healthwatch.
  • Uphold customer privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a registered pharmacy technician with active registration from the relevant licensing body.
  • Certification for administering injections.
  • Strong professionalism and knowledge of pharmacy practices.
  • Ability to implement moderately complex procedures and systems.
  • Leadership and organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills with accurate cash handling abilities.
  • Experience with HealthWatch is considered an asset.
  • Respect for the confidentiality and rights of customers.
  • Effective communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
