Senior Internal Auditor Job Description

Michael Page International Canada Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Internal Auditor to join their team. As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our client's internal controls and risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Internal Control Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of internal controls, including documentation and evaluation of control effectiveness.
  • Audit Procedures: Perform detailed audit procedures, including walkthroughs, observations, analytical procedures, and review of transactions, reports, and policies.
  • Remediation and Improvement: Facilitate and drive the remediation of internal control weaknesses, focusing on timely and sustainable solutions.
  • Testing and Evaluation: Plan and execute design and operating effectiveness testing for assigned sub-processes.
  • Control Gaps and Process Improvement: Assess control gaps and deficiencies, identifying opportunities for process improvement and evaluating control impacts, risk exposure, and mitigation strategies.
Requirements:
  • Professional Qualifications: Professional accounting, audit designation, or related field (e.g., CPA, CISA, or CIA).
  • Experience: Years of experience in a role with exposure to internal controls programs, audit, risk, or compliance.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge and experience in evaluating internal controls under the COSO framework, with experience in large and complex processes and systems at a large public company.
