Senior Internal Auditor Job Description

Michael Page International Canada Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Internal Auditor to join their team. As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our client's internal controls and risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Internal Control Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of internal controls, including documentation and evaluation of control processes.
  • Audit Procedures: Perform detailed audit procedures, including walkthroughs, observations, analytical procedures, and review of transactions, reports, and policies.
  • Remediation of Control Weaknesses: Facilitate and drive the remediation of internal control weaknesses across the organization, with a focus on timely and sustainable solutions.
  • Design and Operating Effectiveness Testing: Plan and execute design and operating effectiveness testing for assigned sub-processes.
  • Control Gaps and Process Improvement: Assess control gaps and deficiencies, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Requirements:
  • Professional Designation: Professional accounting, audit designation, or related field (e.g. CPA, CISA, or CIA).
  • Experience: Years of experience in a role within a function with exposure to an internal controls program (e.g. SOX or ICOFR/ICFR), audit, risk, or compliance.
  • COSO Framework: Strong knowledge and experience in evaluating internal controls under the COSO framework.
  • Large and Complex Processes: Experience with large and complex processes and systems at a large public company.
