Job Summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a responsible and dependable Batch Plant Operator to join our local team. In this position, you are responsible for operating and troubleshooting a ready-mix batch plant, including managing the mixing and loading of concrete mixes according to order specifications for customer delivery.

About the Role

  • Operate and maintain batch plant equipment to produce high-quality concrete mixes.
  • Manage inventory control of raw materials, concrete additives, and specialized materials.
  • Communicate with dispatch and transportation departments regarding material delivery and inventory management.
  • Responsible for daily inspection of facilities and completion of maintenance checklists.
  • Operate a front-end loader when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of Command batch system is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of concrete and admixtures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and safely follow directions.
  • Ability to operate a loader and other yard equipment as needed.
  • Desire to work cooperatively as part of a productive team.
  • Ability to work safely and independently without constant supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work inside and outside in year-round weather conditions.
  • In good physical condition, able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., sit and stand for extended periods of time, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on varied terrain.
  • Ability to work different extended hours, holidays, and/or overtime required.
