We are in search of a driven and seasoned Project Leader to enhance our Engineering Project Management Office (EPMO). The ideal candidate will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects in alignment with timelines and budget constraints. This position entails managing project scope and ensuring successful project delivery. Responsibilities will encompass plan and budget formulation, resource requirement establishment, progress monitoring, issue escalation, and management of cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams comprising employees and contractors, while keeping stakeholders informed throughout the process. Projects may involve significant infrastructure enhancements or modifications, specialized processes or equipment development and implementation, engine test facility upgrades, new product launches, process enhancements, external contracts, or continuous improvement initiatives of a technical nature. The successful candidate will actively engage in the development and ongoing refinement of our EPMO templates and processes.
The Central Engineering division at StandardAero comprises various teams that support over 50 locations globally by applying diverse engineering skill sets to strategically prioritized projects and processes. You will collaborate with multiple functions and business units to execute projects that are directly aligned with the organization's strategic growth and sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Directs the planning and allocation of resources, budget preparation, progress monitoring, and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle. Leads project initiation and planning phases, ensuring technical feasibility. Guarantees resource availability and proper allocation. Develops a comprehensive plan to monitor and track project progress. Coordinates with internal and external parties for project execution. Manages relationships between clients and stakeholders. Assesses project performance utilizing appropriate project management tools. Conducts risk management analysis to mitigate project risks. Reports and escalates issues to upper management as necessary. Creates and maintains thorough project documentation. Oversees approved project timelines. Reviews, evaluates, and approves contracts for work performed by consultants and external contractors; monitors budgets, approves plans and designs, and resolves issues as they arise. Generates periodic project status reports comparing actual progress to forecasted timelines. Acts as a liaison with internal and external customers, ensuring satisfaction with progress and quality. Participates in projects as a team member and/or project leader. Responsible for adhering to all applicable safety requirements and promptly reporting any unsafe practices or conditions. Undertakes special duties as assigned. Contributes to the continuous improvement of internal processes and procedures.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Engineering background is advantageous. 3-5 years of project management and related experience in a manufacturing or aerospace context. Proven success in leading teams through large, complex, multi-site, and multidisciplinary projects. Customer-focused mindset with strong business acumen. Solid familiarity with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices. Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision-making, project management, and communication skills. Strong troubleshooting, interpersonal, and conflict resolution abilities. Experience managing projects through their entire lifecycle. Project Management qualification (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent experience as a project manager is preferred. Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Willingness to travel (up to 35%).
