We are in search of a highly motivated and seasoned Project Leader to become a part of our Engineering Project Management Office (EPMO). The ideal candidate will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints. This position entails managing project scope and guaranteeing successful project delivery. Responsibilities will encompass plan and budget formulation, resource requirement establishment, progress monitoring, issue escalation, and management of cross-functional teams comprising employees and contractors, while keeping stakeholders updated throughout the process. Projects may involve significant infrastructure enhancements, special process or equipment development, engine test facility upgrades, new product launches, process optimization, external contracts, or continuous improvement initiatives of a technical nature. The successful candidate will also engage in the development and ongoing enhancement of our EPMO templates and processes.
The Central Engineering division at StandardAero comprises various teams that support over 50 locations globally by applying diverse engineering skill sets to strategically prioritized projects and processes. You will collaborate with multiple functions and business units to execute projects that align directly with the organization's strategic growth and sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Directs the planning and allocation of resources, budget preparation, progress monitoring, and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle. Leads the initiation and planning phases of projects, ensuring technical feasibility. Guarantees resource availability and allocation. Develops comprehensive plans to monitor and track project progress. Coordinates with internal and external parties for project execution. Manages relationships between clients and stakeholders. Evaluates project performance using suitable project management tools. Conducts risk management analyses to mitigate project risks. Reports and escalates issues to upper management as necessary. Creates and maintains thorough project documentation. Oversees approved project timelines. Reviews, assesses, and approves contracts for work performed by consultants and external contractors; monitors budgets, approves plans and designs, and resolves issues as they arise. Generates periodic project status reports comparing actual progress to forecasted timelines. Acts as a liaison with internal and external customers, ensuring satisfaction with progress and quality. Participates in projects as a team member and/or team project leader. Responsible for adhering to all applicable safety standards and promptly reporting any unsafe practices or conditions. Carries out special duties as assigned. Contributes to the continuous improvement of internal processes and procedures.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Engineering background is advantageous. 3-5 years of project management and related experience in a manufacturing or aerospace setting. Proven success in leading teams through large, complex, multi-site, and multidisciplinary projects. Customer-focused mindset with strong business acumen. Familiarity with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices. Strong planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision-making, project management, and communication skills. Excellent troubleshooting, interpersonal, and conflict resolution abilities. Experience managing projects through their entire lifecycle. Project Management qualification (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent experience as a project manager is preferred. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Willingness to travel (up to 35%).
