Your Opportunity:
The Alberta Health Services is seeking a skilled Health Care Assistant to join our team in a busy tertiary Emergency setting. As a collaborative member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will provide personal assistance and support services to patients who require short-term assistance or ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
- Assist nurses with the provision of routine care, including observing and reporting on patient mood, health, and wellbeing.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, and communicate effectively with patients and health professionals.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
- One year experience as a HCA.
- English language comprehension, both oral and written.
- Ability to meet the physical demands associated with the job, including pushing stretchers, carts, wheelchairs, and bending, and reaching.
Preferred Qualifications:
- As Required.
