Health Care Assistant

As a Health Care Aide, you will play a vital role in the delivery of quality patient care by providing essential services that promote the physical and emotional well-being of patients. You will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary care team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal care, lifting, and transferring.
- Support patients with healthcare tasks and procedures as necessary.
- Work closely with patients, families, and caregivers to provide personalized care and support.
- Assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Completion of a Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
- Proof of enrolment from the Directory or completion of a recognized Health Care Aide Course (or equivalent).
- Current BCLS-HCP certification from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, walking, and lifting.
Related experience in medicine is preferred, but not required.
