Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Small Business Advisor to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high-value and complex small business owner relationships, achieving retention and other negotiated goals while meeting our Service Standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with small business owners, providing comprehensive advice and guidance to help them achieve their business goals.
  • Partner with fellow advisors to create a customer-centric environment, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and support.
  • Proactively engage with new and existing clients to build strong, ongoing relationships and identify opportunities for growth and development.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitor activity, using this knowledge to inform our business development strategies and tactics.
Requirements
  • Strong business development skills, with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with small business owners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of the small business market, including financial statements, risk management policies, and legal and security documentation.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Language Requirement

Pursuant to a language needs assessment conducted by Scotiabank, the successful candidate will be required to be able to communicate in English in addition to French, as they will be working closely with other groups from head office who operate primarily in English and will serve an English and French-speaking clientele frequently.
