Key Responsibilities

As a Small Business Advisor at Scotiabank, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high-value and complex small business owner relationships to achieve retention and other negotiated goals while meeting Scotiabank's Service Standard.

You will create a strong presence within the local business community by developing relationships with various Centres of Influence and proactively engage with new and existing clients to build strong, ongoing relationships and provide comprehensive advice, enabling them to build successful businesses.

You will partner with fellow advisors to create a customer-centric environment and possess a results-oriented attitude and sound knowledge of the small business market, including the features and benefits of small business products and services.

Requirements

You will demonstrate excellent business development techniques and be conversant with small business legal structures and life cycles, competitor offerings, and alternate sources of financing.

You will have good organizational skills and be flexible to adapt to a constantly changing environment and be a strong relationship builder and communicator, proficient at collaborating with others.

You will have an education in a business-related discipline or equivalent work experience as a small business owner and a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Language Requirement

Pursuant to a language needs assessment conducted by Scotiabank, the successful candidate will be required to be able to communicate in English in addition to French because they will be required to work closely with other groups from head office who operate primarily in English and will serve an English and French-speaking clientele frequently.
