Position Overview
The Manufacturing Excellence Manager will spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing operational performance across our fabrication facilities in North America, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs) and optimizing the potential of our workforce, systems, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Excellence Initiatives
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Manufacturing Excellence strategy across all fabrication sites.
- Assist in structuring a divisional organization to ensure the delivery of manufacturing excellence, aligning with financial and operational targets.
- Establish metrics and indicators to monitor and enhance production processes continuously.
- Support the achievement of manufacturing excellence KPIs and budgetary goals.
- Facilitate the execution of North American projects through collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Drive improvements in manufacturing processes.
- Assist in the creation and deployment of a standardized management system.
- Centralize and standardize best practices across fabrication facilities.
People Development
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Implement manufacturing excellence objectives across all plants to meet performance and financial goals.
- Mentor and develop leaders in Manufacturing Excellence to enhance operational performance.
- Engage in Gemba walks and coaching on lean methodologies, including 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture of change leadership among team members.
- Support the planning and execution of Kaizen and Lean manufacturing events.
- Monitor and report on program progress to plant leadership.
Health, Safety & Environment / Quality Assurance
- Ensure that all initiatives promote a Safety-First culture and comply with Aliaxis safety standards.
- Assist in the implementation of the divisional health, safety, and environmental strategy, ensuring accountability and progress reporting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is essential.
- LEAN Six Sigma certification is advantageous.
- 10-15 years of demonstrated success in leading or supporting manufacturing teams, with a focus on excellence and process improvement.
- Experience in managing teams in a performance-driven environment across multiple sites.
- Strong project management skills are required.
- A solid understanding of engineering principles, project management, lean methodologies, and financial acumen is necessary.
