Manufacturing Excellence Manager, Fabrication

IPEX, a leading provider of advanced plastic piping systems, is seeking a seasoned professional to drive Industrial Excellence initiatives in Fabrication plants across North America.

This role will be based out of our Head Office in Oakville, Ontario and report to the Director, Manufacturing Excellence.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading manufacturing sites or teams, with a focus on manufacturing excellence projects and demonstrated process improvement success.

Key Responsibilities:

Health, Safety & Environment / Quality

  • Develop and implement solutions that drive a Safety-First culture and support Aliaxis Divisional & Global Safety standards deployment
  • Support the implementation of the Divisional HS&E strategy, ensuring site accountability and reporting on progress, events, and initiatives

Manufacturing Excellence

  • Lead the development and execution of the Manufacturing Excellence roadmap across North America to bring standard solutions for all Fabrication sites
  • Contribute to the development of a divisional organization structure to deliver Manufacturing Excellence across regions, ensuring alignment, discipline, and financial targets are achieved
  • Establish performance and result indicators to help manage, root cause, and continuously improve production processes
  • Contribute to and support businesses in delivering against manufacturing excellence KPIs and Annual budget
  • Ensure implementation of North American-wide projects and initiatives through ongoing liaison with key stakeholders
  • Lead manufacturing process improvements
  • Support the development and implementation of a standard management system
  • Centralize, standardize, and deploy best practices across Fabrication sites

People

  • Contribute to the development of Best Place to Work objectives
  • Execute on manufacturing excellence goals plant-wide to achieve performance, financial, and staff development objectives
  • Coach, assist, and develop Manufacturing Excellence leaders to drive operational shop floor excellence and remove barriers for employees to meet measurable objectives
  • Deploy and participate in Gemba walks and coaching on 5S / standard work / visual management development/modification/adherence, M.D.I., continuous improvement, flow, and problem-solving and other lean methods, techniques, and processes
  • Attend to individual mindsets to help foster a culture of change leadership
  • Support planning, execution, and sustainment of Kaizen and Lean manufacturing-related events within value stream teams
  • Track and report program progress and communicate with plant leadership

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related Technical field is required
  • LEAN Six Sigma certification is an asset
  • 10-15 years of proven successful experience in supporting or leading manufacturing sites or teams, with a focus on manufacturing excellence projects and demonstrated process improvement success
  • Demonstrated experience of having led teams in a performance management environment across different sites in operations or support roles
  • Solid project management experience
  • Must have a solid understanding of Engineering, Project Management, Lean Principles, Six Sigma, and Financial acumen
