We are seeking a Manufacturing Excellence Manager, Fabrication to join our team at our Head Office in Oakville, Ontario. This role will report to the Director, Manufacturing Excellence.

The successful candidate will develop Industrial Excellence initiatives in Fabrication plants across North America, driving Divisional KPIs and coordinating plants to achieve optimum staff, systems, equipment, machines, and site operations.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment / Quality

  • Ensure all solutions drive a Safety-First culture and support Aliaxis Divisional & Global Safety standards deployment
  • Support the implementation of the Divisional HS&E strategy, ensure site accountability and report on progress, events, and initiatives

Manufacturing Excellence

  • Lead the development and execution of the Manufacturing Excellence road map across North America to bring standard solutions for all Fabrication sites
  • Contribute to developing a divisional organization structure to deliver Manufacturing Excellence across regions, ensuring alignment, discipline, and financial targets are achieved
  • Establish performance and result indicators to help manage, route cause, and continuously improve production processes
  • Contribute and support businesses to deliver against manufacturing excellence KPIs and Annual budget
  • Ensure implementation of North American wide projects and initiatives through ongoing liaison with key stakeholders
  • Lead Manufacturing process improvements
  • Support development and implementation of a standard management system
  • Centralize, standardize, and deploy best practices across fabrication sites

People

  • Contribute to the development of Best Place to Work objective
  • Execute on manufacturing excellence goals plant-wide to achieve performance, financial, and staff development objectives
  • Coach, assist, and develop Manufacturing Excellence leaders to drive operational shop floor excellence and remove barriers for employees to meet measurable objectives
  • Deploy and participate in Gemba walks and coaching on 5S / standard work / visual management development/modification/adherence, M.D.I., continuous improvement, flow, and problem-solving and other lean methods, techniques, and processes
  • Attend to individual mindsets to help foster a culture of change leadership
  • Support planning, execution, and sustainment of Kaizen and Lean manufacturing-related events within value stream team(s)
  • Track and report program progress and communicate with plant leadership

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related Technical field is required
  • LEAN Six Sigma certification is an asset
  • 10-15 years of proven successful experience in supporting or leading manufacturing sites or teams, with focus on manufacturing excellence projects and demonstrated process improvement success
  • Demonstrated experience of having lead teams in a performance management environment across different sites in operations or support roles
  • Solid project management experience
  • Must have a solid understanding of Engineering, Project Management, Lean Principles, Six Sigma, Financial acumen
