Overview

Position Summary:

As a Project Coordinator in the industrial communications sector, you will oversee the successful execution of fiber optic installations within industrial facilities. This role encompasses the management of cable installation, testing, splicing, and terminations, along with additional related services. Your primary objective will be to ensure projects are delivered punctually and within the allocated budget. You will operate autonomously, executing the project strategy and timeline, while prioritizing safety and quality standards, and directing the project team, contractors, and skilled trades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit leadership in health, safety, and environmental stewardship throughout the project. Implement the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to ensure compliance with Ledcor's health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as relevant regulations and codes.
  • Analyze cost reports and manage construction expenses and budgets, adhering to established change management protocols promptly.
  • Facilitate effective communication among project teams and key stakeholders (including design, construction, and procurement). Cultivate positive relationships with clients.
  • Develop and uphold the construction timeline in collaboration with the project team to achieve milestones and completion dates.
  • Conduct project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to track and support the project's ongoing progress.
  • Lead risk management initiatives, identifying and addressing opportunities and risks to optimize schedule and financial outcomes.
  • Maintain, monitor, and report on the financial aspects of the project, including forecasts and billing.

Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in managing telecommunications or similar utility projects.
  • At least 5 years of experience overseeing fiber optic, electrical, or instrumentation and control scopes in an industrial or oil and gas environment.
  • Prior experience in a Project Manager role or a similar managerial/supervisory capacity.
  • Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and contemporary construction methodologies.
  • Proven negotiation and management capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively plan and adhere to project schedules.
  • Comprehension of construction costs and budget management.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, anticipate their needs, and proactively devise solutions.
  • Skilled in identifying constructability challenges in moderately complex scenarios and developing solutions within the construction plan and schedule.
  • Ability to inspire, mentor, and guide team members.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
