Position Overview

The Project Manager plays a crucial role in the planning, management, and execution of designated projects, whether they are Time and Material, Unit Price, or Lump Sum contracts. The goal is to enhance and deliver excellence across all project facets, including profitability, productivity, efficiency, scheduling, safety, local engagement, equipment use, and client relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives within the corporate safety program to uphold superior safety standards;
  • Assist in developing and managing performance measurement systems to fulfill client service and contract obligations;
  • Oversee contract management, including change order processing, dispute resolution, contract evaluations, and quarterly reviews;
  • Direct and manage all personnel in the area, including quality control, environmental specialists, safety advisors, and administrative staff;
  • Collaborate closely with site superintendents and field supervisors to meet project objectives;
  • Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards for all company and subcontractor operations while addressing risk reduction strategies;
  • Identify and coordinate project activities to maximize resource utilization while adhering to budget and schedule;
  • Maintain the application of the corporate quality system, including Requests for Information;
  • Address issues promptly with both internal and external clients while fostering positive relationships;
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary technical training with experience in the civil construction sector;
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology/Technician is preferred;
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills with the ability to interpret budget reports;
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships with diverse groups, including employees, clients, and stakeholders;
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, or similar software;
  • Capable of managing substantial workloads with competing priorities;
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required;
  • The ideal candidate will be based in Alberta, primarily working on-site in a rotational shift format.
