The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality care and support to our senior residents.
Food preparation is the primary responsibility of this role. Within the kitchen environment, you will be tasked with preparing vegetables, meats, sauces, and salads.
Your additional responsibilities will include:
- Creating and baking desserts and soups.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen, ensuring all staff adhere to safe food handling practices.
- Managing food inventory by dating and properly storing items to maintain and rotate stock.
- Coordinating with colleagues to discuss deadlines and meal service logistics, sharing equipment and workspace effectively.
- Collaborating with dishwashers and servers to ensure timely cleanup.
- Engaging with guests at their tables to gauge satisfaction with meals and service.
- Completing necessary documentation, including equipment and food inventory, supply orders, budget considerations, and other cost-related records.

Qualifications for the successful candidate include:
- Completion of secondary education.
- Graduation from a culinary program. Relevant, proven culinary experience may also be considered.
- Red Seal Certification is advantageous.
- Food Safe Certification.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector - Criminal Record Check.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, a team player, with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Able to provide a negative TB screening and immunization documentation.
What we provide:
Compensation: The hourly wage for this position is $27.56, aligning with provincial wage standards.
