Job Title: Greenhouse Worker

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Greenhouse Worker to join our team at Little Mountain Greenhouses Inc. in Floriculture Production.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the growth and maintenance of plants in our greenhouses. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Budding trees and shrubs
  • Cleaning and maintaining the greenhouse environment
  • Harvesting seedlings and transplanting them to larger containers
  • Mixing and applying fertilizers
  • Operating climate controls and irrigation systems
  • Weeding and pruning plants
  • Assisting in the preparation of soils and potting mixes
  • Planting bulbs and seeds
  • Potting and re-potting plants
  • Transplanting seedlings or rooted cuttings
Responsibilities:

The Greenhouse Worker will be responsible for:

  • Performing daily tasks related to plant care and maintenance
  • Assisting in the preparation of soils and potting mixes
  • Operating equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
  • Reporting any signs of insect or disease damage to management
  • Working in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks
  • Handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have:

  • Previous experience in a greenhouse or horticultural setting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions:

The Greenhouse Worker will be working in a greenhouse environment with exposure to:

  • Wet/damp conditions
  • Hot temperatures
  • Non-smoking environment
Language:

The working language for this position is English.
