Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Institutional Research and Planning Analyst to join our team at Thompson Rivers University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic data analysis and research support to inform institutional planning and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct supervision and guidance to junior analysts and researchers, including training and development opportunities.
  • Design and conduct research projects, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain complex databases and data systems, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the university to identify research needs and priorities.
  • Communicate research findings and recommendations to various audiences, including senior leadership and external partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in data analysis and research methods, and apply this knowledge to improve research processes and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as education, sociology, or statistics.
  • At least 6 years of experience in research and data analysis, including 4 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in statistical software, such as R or SPSS, and experience with data visualization tools.
