Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Medical Radiation Technologist to join our team. As an integral member of the Medical Imaging Team, you will be responsible for performing Computed Tomography imaging procedures in accordance with departmental policies, protocols, and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality CT images to meet departmental standards
  • Provide exceptional patient care for Emergency Department, Unit, and Out Patients
  • Prepare written and electronic reports to document procedures and test results
  • Organize and prioritize workflow
  • Collaborate with patient care units, physicians, external departments, and other imaging modalities
  • Participate in QC and QA programs as required
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and ensure medical imaging and ancillary equipment are functioning properly
  • Contribute to teaching, training, educational research, safety, and quality improvement programs/activities
  • Observe and understand organizational and departmental policies and procedures
  • Adhere to organizational and departmental mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Perform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate optimal patient care and cross-functional responsibilities as assigned or requested
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved training program in Radiography
  • Current registration and in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Must have the knowledge, skills, and judgment as identified in the CMRITO "Essential Competencies" to perform services and procedures within the scope of practice of the profession
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, manage time effectively, and produce accurate results while working autonomously or as a team player
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills
  • Committed to service excellence while meeting patient/staff needs efficiently
  • In keeping with the Hospital Mission, Vision, and Core values, maintains and fosters a positive role within the department and to external stakeholders
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal/written) skills
  • Ability to handle stress and conflict management in a professional, effective manner
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership qualities
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position while working alone
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
  • CT training would be an asset
  • IV insertion skills/certificate would be an asset
  • CT Imaging courses would be an asset
