The Marine Logistics Specialist is accountable for managing the intake and modification of orders at Seaspan Marine. This position requires daily communication with clients, terminals, and various stakeholders.

Important Note: This role necessitates full on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the intake and modification of orders from both internal and external parties. Aid in optimizing operational schedules by coordinating with marine crew, engineering, maintenance, port authorities, and external partners such as clients and vendors. Provide timely updates to clients regarding arrival and departure schedules, ensuring minimal disruptions. Monitor tidal conditions and equipment readiness to facilitate timely operations at loading and unloading terminals. Be available for after-hours on-call duties as necessary. Undertake additional responsibilities as needed. Prepare accurate invoices for services rendered by Seaspan, ensuring correctness in billing details and compliance with customer agreements.

Qualifications

A degree in a relevant field (Logistics or Business preferred). Nautical or Engineering Certificate of Competency is an advantage. At least 5 years of experience in logistics (preferably in tug and barge operations), or a comparable mix of education and experience. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Familiarity with applicable Canadian and International marine regulations. Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety standards. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service abilities. Proficient communication skills at all organizational levels, both written and verbal. Competence in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, and Visio). Strong organizational and time management capabilities.

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $65,000 to $79,000, determined by various factors including the candidate's experience and the position's location.
