We are seeking a skilled Addiction Worker to join our team at the Sister Margaret Smith Centre. As an Addiction Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals struggling with addiction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support and guidance to clients in a residential setting.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans to address clients' unique needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other support staff to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Conduct crisis intervention and provide emotional support to clients in times of need.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to track client progress and program effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in a post-secondary Human Services field and 1 year of working experience or specialized training in addictions.
  • Working knowledge of addictions and familiarity with working in an adult residential setting.
  • Safe Food Handling and Standard First Aid certificates.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Class G driver's license and adequate insurance.
  • Demonstrated regular attendance at work.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position is conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) and proof of COVID-19 vaccination or valid medical exemption.
