Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Co-op Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing the project's contractual obligations, documentation, and reporting processes. This position is essential for ensuring seamless communication and workflow within the construction team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with essential personnel on-site, fostering a team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Gain familiarity with North America Construction Ltd's Safety Policies and Procedures through active participation and review of the HSE Manual.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling project timelines.
  • Interpret contract drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Manage document control processes efficiently.
  • Coordinate the contractor's assessment of shop drawings and submissions to ensure adherence to contractual standards.
  • Engage with design firms to facilitate the coordination of constructability and address inquiries through the RFI process.
  • Support project budgeting efforts and maintain tracking systems to align with financial forecasts.
  • Oversee the procurement of construction materials, equipment, and tools in collaboration with head office support teams.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Construction Management or Engineering program as part of a registered co-op initiative.
  • Prior experience in construction is advantageous.
  • A strong desire to contribute to the North America Construction Ltd team and enhance skills within the construction sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are necessary.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
